About this studio
DANCECleveland, incorporated as the Cleveland Modern Dance Association, is a non-profit dance presenting organization based at 2937 West 25th St, Suite B-23, Cleveland, Ohio. Founded by Lillian Weisberg and describing itself as the country's oldest modern dance presenting organization, it is marking its 70th anniversary with the 2026-27 season. Rather than running a school, it brings touring modern and contemporary companies to northeast Ohio - recent seasons have included Charlotte Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Pilobolus, GALLIM and choreographer Dominic Moore-Dunson - with most performances at Playhouse Square. Its education work includes visiting-artist master classes, a Dance Career Day for high school students, educational outreach programs and a free Community Dance Day offering classes for all ages and abilities.
