Avante' Dance & Gymnastics

Avante Dance and Gymnastics is a combined dance and gymnastics school at 388 South 22nd Street in Heath, Ohio, just off Route 79 and minutes from Newark, Granville, Thornville and Hebron. Owner and director Susan Barcus is certified by Dance Masters of America, Ohio Dance Masters, Dance Educators of America and the International Dance Entrepreneurs Association, and staff also hold USA Gymnastics credentials. Dance classes cover ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, clogging and musical theatre, structured as Baby Ballet at age 3, preschool combo classes at ages 4 and 5, and school-age classes from age 6, with adult classes available on request. Classes run one hour weekly, mostly after school Monday to Thursday, teaching September through May with a limited summer schedule. The school has competitive dance and gymnastics teams that attend national competitions, a dedicated preschool area with smaller equipment, an annual recital, and weekend birthday parties.
