About this studio
Center de Danse is a full-service classical ballet school in Georgetown at 3254 Prospect Street NW, Washington DC, founded in 1983 by director Theresa Kramer and now in its 42nd year. Kramer trained with Rosella Hightower in Cannes, danced with Le Grand Theatre de Nancy and the Teatro Nacional de Panama under Dame Margot Fonteyn, and has taught as a guest artist in Panama and Florida. The school teaches only classical ballet, to students aged 5 to 66, in afternoon and evening classes for children and adults at all levels. Group classes and private lessons run at every level including pre-pointe and pointe; pointe requires two years of preparation, a minimum age of 11 and two ballet classes a week. Enrollment is ongoing and a single trial class is offered.
