About this studio
The Joffrey Ballet School was founded in New York City by Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino in 1953 and is based at 434 Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan, with a second location in Long Island City. Programmes run from Children's Ballet for ages 2 to 7, through Youth Ballet for ages 8 to 18 and a Community Ballet class for ages 8 to 10, to a year-round pre-professional Trainee Program for ages 13 to 25 offering either Ballet or Jazz and Contemporary concentrations, plus a Bachelor of Fine Arts route and residence life. Open Classes are drop-in sessions for dancers 16 and up and adults of any age, covering ballet, jazz, contemporary and Pilates or stretch. Summer intensives run across the US and internationally.
