About this studio
North Carolina Dance Institute (NCDI) is at 5910-101 Duraleigh Road in Raleigh and has been teaching for 25 years. It describes itself as a non-recital, non-competition institute focused on education and exposure to classical ballet and contemporary dance forms for children and adults, and it draws students from across the Triangle including Cary, Durham, Chapel Hill, Apex, Garner, Holly Springs, Morrisville and Wake Forest. Day and evening classes cover ballet, jazz, tap, modern, hip hop, pointe, contemporary and musical theatre for ages 3 to adult. The dance year runs 40 weeks from mid-August to mid-June, with a separate six-week summer class session and week-long summer dance camps. Dancers who want to perform can audition for the Steps to Stage program, which culminates in a staged show. NCDI is led by artistic directors Kirstie Tice Spadie and Victoria Moore.
