Blair Dance Academy

Blair Dance Academy (BDA) is at 2914 West Chestnut Avenue in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and teaches many genres of dance to all ages and ability levels under the tagline "Dare to be Blair." The youngest students start in Mini-Me Creative Movement, the studio's version of a Mommy and Me class, for ages 18 months to 2.5 years with an adult, run as six-week sessions three times a year; a Combo class for ages 3-4 introduces ballet and tap together. Levelled classes follow in ballet (from age 3, with an intensive 90-minute option from age 10), pointe from age 9, tap from age 3, jazz from age 5, hip hop from age 5, musical theater from age 6, acro from age 6, and lyrical, modern and clogging from age 8. Non-recital technique classes cover conditioning, contortion and flexibility, leaps and turns, and feet and legs. Registration for the 2026-2027 season is open, and the academy also runs summer programs and hosts guest instructors.
