About this studio
Bi-Okoto is an African arts and cultural institution based at the Bi-Okoto Cultural Center on Montgomery Road in Cincinnati, Ohio, working for more than four decades as a performing company, a teaching center and a community organization. Its class program, B-Fit, is an Afrocentric community for movement, rhythm, wellness and cultural learning: yoga on Mondays, an adult Space Age Dance class on Wednesdays, West African dance on Fridays, and a Saturday family morning of African dance, children's drum and adult drum, plus a monthly open drum circle. Sessions weave dance, drumming, Yoruba language, songs and storytelling together. Youth pathways include Tolongo, with after-school terms and a summer camp, and the Okoto Kekere youth-to-artist pipeline.
