Dance classes in Astoria, New York
American Bolero Dance Company (ABDC) is a Spanish dance company and school at 30-16 Steinway Street in Astoria, Queens, New York. Founded in 1996 by artistic director Gabriela Granados, it works across the rhythms and song literature of flamenco, the stylised repertory of Clasico Espanol and the traditions of Escuela Bolera, and has toured and been reviewed internationally. ABDC opened its Spanish Dance School in 2002, teaching children and adults flamenco, classical Spanish dance, regional folk dance and Escuela Bolera with company artists; in-person and online classes have both been offered. The non-profit also produces Tablao Flamenco evenings with guest artists and a Retrospectiva program.
Ballet Hispánico, the nation's leading Latino dance organization since 1970 and recognized this year as one of America's Cultural Treasures, will be included in The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' Jerome Robbins Dance Division sixth annual Symposium.
