A celebration of American women and the pioneering spirit, this record-setting musical depicts the poignant stories of the steadfastness of frontier women in the face of adversity, sewn into quilt blocks and performed on stage. It will be produced in conjunction with the Mary Morgan Moore Department of Music and the Department of Art at Lamar, as well as a quilt exhibit at the Dishman Museum and other campus-wide activities. This production and exhibit will be supported in part by an Arts in Education grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
