Bass Concert Hall Ranks Number 13 On The Pollstar Top 100 Worldwide Theatre Venues For 2009 Mid Year Ticket Sales

Pollstar, the trade journal for touring artists, booking agents and performance venues, has released its Mid Year Ticket Sales numbers. Bass Concert Hall has ranked 13 on the top 100 Worldwide Theatre Venues with 135,456 tickets sold for events between January 1 and June 30, 2009.
This positions Bass Concert Hall in the company of major venues in New York, London, Mexico City and Toronto, and ahead of regional venues like the Nokia Theatre at Grand Prairie.Bass Concert Hall seats approximately 2,924 patrons. Performances on the Bass stage from 2008 - early 2009 include John Legend, Flight of the Conchords, Itzhak Perlman, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and Bill Cosby.Texas Performing Arts presents significant works of music, theatre, dance and conversation at six venues located on the University of Texas at Austin campus. Bass Concert Hall, the largest of the theatres, recently underwent a $14.7 million renovation, making it one of the premiere performance halls in Central Texas.HEB Broadway Across America presents a subscription series at Bass Concert Hall.
