Amphibian Stage Productions' FICTION Opens This Thursday

By:

Amphibian Stage Productions opens its first main stage production of the 2013 season, Fiction by Steven Dietz, this Thursday, kicking off a four-week run of the play. Jakie Cabe, Lydia Mackay, and Cara L. Reid star in this poignant drama running Thursday, February 21 through Sunday, March 17 at the Berlene T. and Jarrell R. Milburn Theatre at Amphibian Stage Productions.

Mary Catherine Burke, a New York-based director, leads this new production. Ms. Burke has been an Artistic Director, Associate Producer, and freelance director for over a decade, and she has recently joined The New York Musical Theatre Festival as their Director of Programming. This will be her first time directing for Amphibian Stage Productions.

DFW-based actor Jakie Cabe first performed with Amphibian in the staged reading of All this Intimacy in 2010, along with Fiction co-star Cara L. Reid. Lydia Mackay appeared with Amphibian in a staged reading of The Scene in 2008, as well as the staged reading of Treats in 2011. This will be the Amphibian main stage debut for all three actors.

Additionally, Fiction will feature set design by Bob Lavallee, lighting design by Frederick Uebele, sound design by David Lanza, and costume design by LaLonnie Lehman.

About the Play
Best-selling authors Michael and Linda Waterman treasure their honest marriage, until a harsh twist of fate compels them to read each other's diaries. Between the lines, stretching deep into the past, a secret liaison with a mysterious stranger surfaces, forever altering married life's delicate balance of fact and fiction.

"Take this as a fact. Fiction, a new play by Steven Dietz, is a work of uncommon insight -
an adult, unsparing and yet often witty look at the intimate relationship between a man and a woman during a time of crisis." - Associated Press

Fiction will run from Thursday, February 21 through Sunday, March 17 at Amphibian Stage Productions. Thursday, February 21 is a private opening night for Amphibian's Devonian members and press and is available by invitation only. A "pay-what-you-can" preview performance will be available on Wednesday, February 20 that is open to the public.

Tickets for Fiction are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors, and $15 for students. For tickets and more information, theatergoers may call 817-923-3012, email boxoffice@amphibianproductions.org, or visit www.amphibianproductions.org. The theatre is located at 120 S. Main Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76104.
