Celebrating the life and legacy of Broadway's songwriting titan Stephen Sondheim, the Rose Center Theater is excited to present his beloved and iconic musical Into the Woods this February and March 2022. James Lapine (book) and Stephen Sondheim (music & lyrics) take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant piece...a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching. Follow a story of a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow could give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on an epic journey to break it. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. One of Stephen Sondheim's most popular works, Into the Woods is a musically sophisticated and fantastical show perfect for the entire family. Fridays February 18, 25, and March 4 at 7:30 PM* Saturdays February 19, 26, and March 5 at 7:30 PM** Sundays February 20, 27, and March 6 at 2:00 PM* Sip & Snack Saturdays - February 19, 26, and March 5: An optional ticket offering for all Saturday night performances. Patrons who purchase the Sip & Snack Saturday Ticket will gain access to an exclusive intermission soiree, including complimentary drinks and snacks.
