Steven Weber Joins THE PARISIAN WOMAN at South Coast Repertory Theatre

By: Mar. 19, 2013

The final cast member has been confirmed for South Coast Repertory's world premiere of Beau Willimon's The Parisian Woman. Actor Steven Weber will portray Tom, one-half of the play's Beltway power couple.

Willimon sets The Parisian Woman in the Capitol Hill section of Washington, D.C., where powerful friends are the only kind worth having. This provocative comedy about bad conduct in high places puts lust in bed with ambition. At the center is Chloe (Dana Delany), an über-operator armed with charm, wit and sensuality. She uses all the arrows in her quiver to help her husband, Tom (Weber), nab an important government post. Find out how far this unorthodox couple will go to climb up the political ladder.

The cast also includes Steven Culp as Peter, Linda Gehringer as Jeanette, and Rebecca Mozo as Rebecca.

Steven Weber is a versatile film, television and stage actor. He portrayed Brian Hackett on the long-running television sitcom "Wings." Other television credits include "Monk" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," and recurring roles on "Two Broke Girls," "Happy Town," "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," "Without a Trace," "Falling .Skies," "Brothers and Sisters," and "Once and Again," and "Love Letters." His film credits include Farm House, a remake of The Shining, Leaving Las Vegas, Single White Female and Clubland.

Weber's theatre credits include Broadway productions of Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing and The Producers. He appeared in Three Hotels, with Maura Tierney, at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. In 2005 in London, he appeared with Kevin Spacey in The Old Vic Theatre's production of Dennis McIntyre's National Anthems. Other theatre works includes Throwing Your Voice, Something in the Air and Design for Living.

Willimon is creator and co-executive producer of Netflix's original series "House of Cards," about power, sex, ambition, love, greed and corruption in modern Washington, D.C. One of the American theatre's hottest directors, Pam MacKinnon, will direct this world premiere.
The Parisian Woman was commissioned and developed by The Flea Theater in New York City. It runs April 14-May 4 on SCR's Julianne Argyros Stage. Tickets are on sale now; for information, call (714) 708-5555 or go online to www.scr.org.
