South Coast Repertory Tickets Now On Sale

By: Aug. 08, 2012

Dive into a season of comedy, romance, re-imagined classics, and regional and world premieres with South Coast Repertory in 2012-13. Tickets for SCR's upcoming season are now on sale, ranging from $20-$70.

The 12 stage offerings include the farcical Absurd Person Singular by Alan Ayckbourn, a work marking its 40th anniversary this year; Amanda Dehnert's re-imagined Shakespeare, The Verona Project; and Sarah Ruhl's Eurydice. The season features two world premieres and three Southland debuts.

SCR offers a variety of ticket options, including the flexible Create Your Own program: pick any three plays, on any three dates, for as little as $96.

The 2012-13 SCR season features:
Ayckbourn's hilarious farce, Absurd Person Singular, Sept. 7-Oct. 7;
Sarah Ruhl's comic tale of loss, Eurydice, Sept. 23-Oct. 14;
Bill Cain's touching How to Write a New Book for the Bible, a Southland debut, which runs Oct. 19-Nov. 18;
Stephen Adly Guirgis' Broadway hit The Motherf**ker with the Hat, West Coast premiere, Jan. 6-27, 2013;

second world premiere, to be announced, April 14-May 5; and
Amanda Dehnert's trailblazing musical take on Shakespeare, The Verona Project, May 10-June 9.

SCR's Theatre for Young Audiences features three productions:
Greg Banks' Robin Hood, Nov. 2-18;
Meryl Friedman's Anastasia Krupnik, adapted from the book by Lois Lowry, Feb. 8-24; and
John Glore's The Night Fairy, a new adaptation from the book by Laura Amy Schlitz, May 24-June 9, 2013.

Mark the holidays with the 33rd rendition of the holiday favorite A Christmas Carol, starring Hal Landon Jr. This huge audience favorite runs Nov. 24 through Dec. 24.

Single ticket prices during SCR's 49th season range from $20-$70; single tickets for Theatre for Young Audiences productions range from $20-$32; and single tickets for A Christmas Carol range from $26-$63.

Season ticket packages for the full regular season also are available and range from $64-$517.50; for Theatre for Young Audiences, season tickets start at $48. Discounts are available for students, seniors, those under 25, and for groups.
