STAGE TUBE: Dee Roscioli Goes Green as 'Elphaba' for WICKED at Segerstrom Center

In the episode "Wicked Green" from the show "Real Orange", host Maria Hall-Brown met with Dee Roscioli, who plays "Elphaba" in the national tour of WICKED, as well as Christina Knapp, make-up supervisor for the show. Watch below to learn how Roscioli "goes green" for each performance!

The first North American tour of WICKED recently announced that joining the show are Jenn Gambatese as Glinda in Costa Mesa, Calif., where the show is currently running at Segerstrom Center for the Arts, and Curt Hansen as Fiyero on, March 20 in Tucson, AZ. Gambatese and Hansen join a cast that includes Roscioli as Elphaba, Kim Zimmer as Madame Morrible and Tom McGowan as The Wizard.

The company also features Justin Brill (Boq), Clifton Davis (Dr. Dillamond), Demaree Hill (Nessarose) and Laurel Harris (Standby for Elphaba) with Dina Bennett, Lauren Boyd, Kyle Brown, Antonette Cohen, Rick Desloge, Timothy A. Fitz-Gerald, Napoleon W. Gladney, Brenda Hamilton, Courtney Iventosch, Trevor Ryan Krahl, Philip Dean Lightstone, Marissa Lupp, Michael Mahany, Jonathan McGill, Kevin McMahon, Cassie Okenka, Shayla Osborn, Christopher Russo, Adea Michelle Sessoms, Sarah Schenkkan, Pamela Shandrow, Ben Susak, Shanna VanDerwerker and Mikey Winslow.

WICKED is playing through March 17 at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, CA. Good seats are still available and can be purchased online at SCFTA.org, at the Box Office at 600 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa or by calling (714) 556-2787. WICKED, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, Disney's Enchanted, Academy Award winner for Pocahontas and The Prince of Egypt) and book by Winnie Holzman ("My So Called Life," "Once And Again" and "thirtysomething"), is based on the 1995 best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire. The musical is directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello (Take Me Out, Love! Valour! Compassion!, The Vagina Monologues) and features musical staging by Tony Award winner Wayne Cilento (Aida, The Who's Tommy, How To Succeed...). Wicked, the untold story of the witches of Oz, is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Pictures, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone.

WICKED features set design by Tony Award winning Eugene Lee (Ragtime, Show Boat, Candide, Sweeney Todd), costume design by Tony winner Susan Hilferty (Spring Awakening, Into the Woods, Assassins), lighting design by Tony nominee Kenneth Posner (Tony Award winner for The Coast of Utopia, Hairspray) and sound design by Tony Meola (The Lion King). Stephen Oremus is the show's music director. Orchestrations are by William David Brohn, with dance arrangements by James Lynn Abbott.

Opening at the Edinburgh Playhouse on 7 December 2023, Wicked will then travel to Bristol, Birmingham, Bradford, Southampton, Liverpool, Dublin, Sunderland, Cardiff and Manchester, where it will conclude at the Palace Theatre for Christmas 2024/5.

Michele Pawk Will Join the Broadway Cast of WICKED Photo
Tony Award-winner Michele Pawk will join the cast of Wicked at Broadway's Gershwin Theatre, taking over the role of Madame Morrible beginning Monday, December 12.  Michael Wartella returned to the role of Boq, starting performances last evening, November 15.
