Family Flight Lab is a Memorial Day Weekend event at American Mural Project featuring Colonel Alton Whitley, the first operational pilot to fly the Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk stealth aircraft. The day includes a pilot helmet exhibit, photo opportunities, mural tours, and a paper airplane design contest with a group launch and prizes at 1pm. At noon, Colonel Whitley — a decorated veteran who served during the Vietnam War and deployed for Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm — meets with guests, shares his story, and answers questions. A virtual reality flight simulator from New England Air Museum is also available for an additional charge.
