An Evening of One Acts is an annual production at the Barn of original, unpublished works selected by the One Acts Committee from over 250 submitted plays. The 2025 production, which goes up in late February, will feature 9 plays presented without intermission. Each play has its own director and will rehearse in a stand-alone environment until tech week when the production is brought together. An Evening of One Acts was originally developed in 2010 and has evolved into one of our most popular events, both with audiences and with cast and crew.

Review: AN EVENING OF ONE ACTS 2023 at Ridgefield Theater Barn
March 12, 2023 On Saturday, March 11, 2023, I had the pleasure of experiencing one of my favorite annual theater traditions in seeing AN EVENING OF ONE ACTS 2023 at the Ridgefield Theater Barn in Ridgefield, CT. This annual event is a new series each year of original one act plays, mostly in the comedy genre, and always done extremely well by a very talented cast. Seven total one acts were performed this year, with no intermission. The prop and scene changes, during the blackouts, between each one act were smooth and efficient. This was a packed house in an intimate setting. The cast enters and exits through the center aisle of the audience. The walls of stage left and stage right are visible to the audience. Every audience member seemed to be highly entertained.

March 19, 2022 Every year, one of my favorite annual theater traditions is seeing the evening of one acts at the Ridgefield Theater Barn, in Ridgefield, CT. I had the pleasure of continuing that wonderful tradition on Friday, March 18, with AN EVENING OF ONE ACTS 2022 which continues with the consistent first-rate shows and performances I have come to expect and enjoy every year. This show contains seven one acts, mostly with a comedic tone.

I greatly enjoy the consistent high quality entertainment that the Ridgefield Theater Barn brings with these unique original one act stories!
Ridgefield Theater Barn to Roll Out the Red Carpet for Re-Opening
May 21, 2021 The Ridgefield Theater Barn is ready to celebrate the return of live performing arts in front of audiences with 'An Evening of One-Acts' beginning June 11. The Barn, set up with cabaret-style seating, will start its 2021 season, featuring local, national and international unpublished playwrights' scripts.
