(10/27/2025) - A.C.T. of CT opened its 2025-2026 season with Almost Famous: The Musical in a masterful production. Long-time patrons of A.C.T. know they will get total professionalism from the cast and creative crew, but this production of Almost Famous has something extra. A.C.T.’s artistic director and director of this production, Daniel C. Levine, worked with Cameron Crowe and Tom Kitts on the revised book and score, which will be the new licensed version of Almost Famous going forward.

Butterfly premiered at the National Theater in Washington D.C. and then produced on Broadway, it was truly visionary, compelling, thought-provoking, and outright shocking. Revised in 2017 to incorporate information that was released after the original play was produced, more people’s acceptance of the LGBTQIA+ community, and China’s growth as a superpower.

(03/03/2025) - David Ives’s new version of Georges Feydeau’s farce, A Flea in Her Ear is an ambitious three-act play for any small theater, but the Brookfield Theatre more than rises to it. Named one of the greatest farces ever written, it takes a lot to mount the play. You need a stage large enough to accommodate a cast of 14 players and part of a set that turns.

(02/24/2025) - Ted Tally’s Obie Award winning play, Terra Nova, tells the compelling story of the ill-fated British expedition based on facts and the letters and journals found on Captain Robert Scott’s frozen body. Briefly, in 1911-12, teams of five Englishmen and five Norwegians competed to get to the South Pole first. Five men did not return home.
