The Northwest CT Association for the Arts is pleased to announce the appointment of Sara Hannafin, Director of Development and Marilyn Yerks, Director of Finance at the Warner Theatre.

Sara joins us after her recent tenure as Director of Development at the Village for Families and Children, Inc. located in Hartford, Connecticut. Sara was an integral part of the Village’s three-year, 5 million dollar campaign, having exceeded all campaign goals. Before her time at the Village, she held positions in the development offices of Miss Porter’s School and the Northwest Center for Family Service and Mental Health. Prior to moving back to Connecticut, she worked in both New York City and Washington, D.C. in the fields of marketing and publishing.

Sara moved back to the Litchfield County area, from Washington, D.C., when her children were very young because she wanted them to experience a similar childhood to the one she had while growing up in Norfolk, CT. Sara and her children now live in West Hartland and have been patrons of the Warner Theatre for the last ten years. “I have always loved the Warner Theatre and am still struck by it dramatic presence each time I enter the building. I am very excited to join the team and to be part of ensuring the future of this historic landmark and to continue meeting and enhancing community involvement through a variety of entertaining and educational programming. It’s a very exciting time to be onboard!“

“Sara’s refreshing new initiatives will bring the Warner Experience to an ever growing circle of arts patrons”, commented Executive Director John Bonanni.

Marilyn Yerks brings to the Warner Theatre over twenty years of financial expertise in the nonprofit sector. Her years of management experience include Financial Manager for a land conservancy in New York, Deputy Director for an animal conservancy in Massachusetts, and CFO for a community service organization in Connecticut.

Marilyn received her master’s degree in public administration from Marist College, where she also did her undergraduate work in accounting. In addition to her work at the Warner Theatre, Marilyn serves on the Region 1 Board of Education and as Vice Chair for the Sharon Board of Education. She lives with her family in Sharon CT.

We are very pleased that Marilyn is onboard”, remarked Executive Director John Bonanni. “She has created a cohesive environment in financial reporting that is staff friendly”.
