Theater Barn Announces Upcoming Classes

By:

The Theater Barn has announced two new workshops this winter. Due to overwhelming popularity, Susan Grace Cohen is returning to offer Developing Your Acting Career, an 8-week course of classes beginning Saturday, January 21st.   In addition, after countless requests, Rick Hodder is offering a Fundamentals of Improv workshop, beginning Sunday, February 12th

Recently of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and Less Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, Susan G. Cohen coaches principals for Broadway, Off Broadway, film & television. Her acting class, Developing Your Acting Career, which continues to sell out whenever it’s offered, is an 8-week course for adults only and will meet every Saturday from 3:30-5:30pm, from January 21st through March 17th, with the exception of the week of Spring Break.

The coach and director of the RTB's wildy successful in-house Improv comedy troupe "Role in the Hay Players", Rick Hodder has trained with the Upright Citizens Brigade and Gotham City Improv in NYC, and recently directed one of the highest grossing shows at the Theater Barn, Godspell.  If you like the show Whose Line is it Anyway? then this Improv workshop is right up your alley.  Beginning February 12th and running through April 1st, the 8-week workshop will meet Sundays, 6:30-8:30pm and end with a performance for friends and family at the Theater Barn.  But if you’d like to “try before you buy”, as a special treat Rick will hold a sample one-hour class for free on Sunday, January 22nd!

All classes are adults-only, minimum age 18, and will be held at the Ridgefield Theater Barn, 37 Halpin Lane. All experience levels are welcome. Early registration is strongly recommended as seating is limited to 14 students for both workshops, which are $320 for members, $340 non-members.  The sample Improv class is free, but does require registration.  Register online at ridgefieldtheaterbarn.org.
