Stew and Heidi Rodewald Return To Shakespeare On The Sound For MUCH ADO

By:

Shakespeare on the Sound, Connecticut's premier outdoor summer theater company presenting free Shakespeare in the park will present Shakespeare's comedy Much Ado About Nothing, under the direction of Joanna Settle, next summer for the company's 16th season. The announcement was made today by Artistic Director Settle. Stew and Heidi Rodewald will again create music and songs for the upcoming production. Set Designer Andrew Lieberman and Costume Designer Tilly Grimes will also return next year. Much Ado About Nothing will play two beautiful locations on Long Island Sound, Pinkney Park in Rowayton and Baldwin Park in Greenwich. Performance dates and further details will be announced shortly.

Much Ado About Nothing will get the now famous Settle/Stew/Rodewald treatment as they plunge into the hilarious whirlwind romance and rivalry of Beatrice and Benedick, who like so many modern couples are quick to defend themselves from love with wit and humor. As the characters undo each other through The Bard's biting and cunning language, Shakespeare on the Sound audiences will be undone alike by this intimate waterfront production. All new music and songs will be by Stew and Heidi Rodewald, whose sizzling artistic collaboration is on display in the company's current production of Othello.

This summer's acclaimed Othello ends its popular run this Sunday evening in Greenwich, capping the successful 15th Season (remaining performances are nightly at 7:30 p.m.). Audiences are invited to arrive early and picnic in the park before the performance. Full picnics and snacks are available for purchase at the Aux Délices food tent. There is no admission fee, but a donation of $20 ($10 for students and seniors) is suggested.

Shakespeare on the Sound has established itself as one of the most popular summer theater companies on the East Coast, drawing large audiences to each performance in the unique under-the-stars settings of its waterfront venues.

In Greenwich, the production is a five minute walk from the Greenwich Metro-North stop. Ample parking is available.
