Ridgefield Playhouse to Screen National Theatre Live's OF MICE AND MEN, 3/8
From the stage of London's National Theatre, John Steinbeck's Of Mice And Men will be Live in HD on Sunday, March 8, at 12 noon, at The Ridgefield Playhouse. Golden Globe winner and Academy Award nominee James Franco (127 Hours, Milk) and Tony Award nominee Chris O'Dowd (Bridesmaids, Girls) star in the hit Broadway production Of Mice And Men, filmed on stage by National Theatre Live. This landmark revival of Nobel Prize winner John Steinbeck's play is a powerful portrait of the American spirit and a heartbreaking testament to the bonds of friendship. After the show, Bernard's (20 West Lane, Ridgefield) will offer a special $45 prix-fixe menu, or a complimentary glass of wine with dinner, the night of this event; reservations suggested. The Live in HD Series is underwritten by Jeanne Cook, Anita and Nicholas Donofrio, Liz and Steven Goldstone, Marilyn and Joe Kreitz, Joanne and John Patrick, Sabina and Walter Slavin and Taylor Zemo Foundation with support from The Ridgefield Press and Whistle Stop Bakery.
Tony Award, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circles award winner Anna D. Shapiro (Broadway's August: Osage County) directs this magnificent play which features Leighton Meester (Country Strong, Gossip Girl) and Tony Award winner Jim Norton (The Seafarer). Of Mice And Men was nominated for two Tony Awards, including Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play for Chris O'Dowd.
