Connecticut's Pantochino Productions Inc will bring its popular musical, "The Brothers Grimm and a Showgirl" to the Seven Angels Theatre in Waterbury for two performances this week, and at New Haven's Audubon Arts On The Edge festival sponsored by the Arts Council of Greater New Haven on Saturday, June 2nd. An abridged version of the show has been added to the company's touring roster and will begin appearing in Connecticut schools on May 30th.

"The Brothers Grimm and a Showgirl" features book and lyrics by Bert Bernardi and music by Justin Rugg. The show is described as a super fun, wildly imaginative family musical featuring spoofs and goofs of favorite fairy tales such as Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty and much, much more. In the play, The Brothers Grimm themselves arrive to perform their best-loved stories and are joined by a sequined and feathered Showgirl who helps tell the tales in her own special way.

The new musical debuted at the Off-Broadway Theatre at Yale earlier this year, and as was also presented at The Palace in Danbury. Bernardi and Rugg appear in the show along with Pantochino's Jimmy Johansmeyer and Shelley Marsh Poggio.
