Madison Lyric Stage Hosts Season Fundraiser at The Deacon John Grave House Image

Madison Lyric Stage, an award-winning, professional theater company serving the Connecticut Shoreline, will hold its season fundraiser on Saturday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m. at its new home, the Deacon John Grave House in Madison's historic town center.

The event will feature fantastic food, wine, beer and cocktails, and entertainment. A highlight of the evening will be a silent auction, featuring apartment stays, private dinners, original watercolor paintings, theater tickets and lots of great merchandise from the area.

Madison Lyric Stage cast members will also provide a preview of their 2018 season, including musical numbers from Company, Godspell and The Turn of the Screw, plus a brief excerpt from Agnes of God.

"We are so thrilled to be presenting two of our 2018 productions on the grounds of the Deacon John Grave House and couldn't think of a better way to introduce the House to our supporters than by holding our season fundraiser there," said Marc Deaton, artistic director of Madison Lyric Stage. "We've found that many people have never been inside the House, so this is a great opportunity to support live theater in Madison and tour this Shoreline treasure at the same time."

Tickets for the fundraiser are $40 and can be purchased at madisonlyricstage.org or by calling 203-215-6329. The Deacon John Grave House is located at 581 Boston Post Road in Madison.

Madison Lyric Stage is presenting the religious thriller Agnes of God in April, the Stephen Sondheim/George Furth musical comedy Company in July, and the Benjamin Britten suspense opera The Turn of the Screw in October. For the first time, the company will produce, in May, a young artist production of the Stephen Schwartz musical Godspell.

Money-saving subscriptions are available for Madison Lyric Stage's three mainstage shows: Agnes of God, Company and The Turn of the Screw. While individual tickets will continue to be priced at $35, season ticket bundles are available for $90. Individual tickets for Godspell are $25.

Madison Lyric Stage is a recent winner of a BroadwayWorld Connecticut award for its 2017 production of Jesus Christ Superstar.

Madison Lyric Stage is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity and arts collective for the Shoreline of Connecticut. Its mission is to present affordable, professional-quality entertainment from the worlds of opera, musical theater and drama. Past productions include: A Little Night Music, Blithe Spirit, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, Macbeth, Peter Grimes, Salome, The Glass Menagerie, and many others.
