Music Theatre of Connecticut School of the Performing Arts presents "Lucky Stiff" on Friday and Saturday, May 17 and 18. Performances areon Friday at 7:30pm and Saturday at 2pm at Theatre Artists Workshop, 5 Gregory Blvd. in Norwalk, CT.

"Lucky Stiff" is a musical farce in the best sense of the word -- the plot involving one dead body, six million bucks in diamonds and a lot of dogs. This zany, offbeat, and hysterically funny murder mystery tells the tale of an unassuming English shoe salesman forced to take the corpse of his recently-murdered Atlantic City croupier uncle on a week-long vacation to Monte Carlo. "Lucky Stiff" is written by Tony Award Winning musical writers Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, the creative team behind "Ragtime: The Musical" and "Once on This Island," which MTC will produce next season. Based on the novel "The Man Who Broke The Bank at Monte Carlo" by Michael Butterworth, "Lucky Stiff" the first Ahrens and Flaherty work to be produced. The Music Theatre of Connecticut production of "Lucky Stiff" is directed by MTC co-founder, James Schilling of Norwalk.

The musical is a fully staged and costumed production, with the cast comprised of MTC students. Lauren Beranek, Amanda Book, Ethan Brodows, Joshua Horowitz, Molly Jeanneret, Nina Lee, Dean Stephens and Bryn Stephens of Westport, Jessica Filling, Alison Gentry, Katie Urquhart and Maiya Urquhart of Fairfield, Lydia Perling and Molly Perling of Greenwich.

Tickets for "Lucky Stiff" are $15 for students and $20 for adults, and can be reserved by calling the Music Theatre of Connecticut Box Office at 203.454.3883 or online at www.musictheatreofct.com
