The Windham Theatre announces the great line-up of shows coming up in the Burton Leavitt Theatre, 779 Main Street, Willimantic for the 2016-2017 Season that kicks off this summer.

Everyone looks forward to the Guild's summer musical, and this year's production is the deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood horror comedy rock musical Little Shop of Horrors July 22nd-August 6th.

In fall, the Guild will present another musical based on the international best-selling book by Stuart Hample and Eric Marshall...Children's Letters To God, following the lives of a group of young people voicing their beliefs, questions and concerns about life. Children's Letters To God runs September 16th-25th.

A hilarious murder mystery with local ties will end the 2016 season. It's The Game's Afoot; or Holmes for the Holidays, running November 4th-13th. Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the 1936 play "Sherlock Holmes" invites his fellow cast members to his Connecticut castle in East Haddam. Join the fun as he tries to solve a murder as if he really was Sherlock Holmes. This glittering whodunit is set during the Christmas holidays.

The first show of 2017 is The Last Romance, a wonderful dramady by Joe DiPietro running February 10th-25th. A crush can make anyone feel young again-even a widower named Ralph. One day, Ralph decides to take a different path on his daily walk, one that leads him to an unexpected second change at love. The Last Romance ties in perfectly for Valentine's Day and Romantic Willimantic activities.

Springtime comes to life with a bright and happy well-known musical...You're A Good Man Charlie Brown (Revised), running March 24th-April 8th. Based on the comic strip "Peanuts", this show is a fresh approach to the 1967 classic. Sally Brown joins Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Schroeder and Snoopy and new songs have been added to help bring to life "an average day in the life of Charlie Brown".

And closing out the season will be The Diary of Anne Frank, winner of the 1956 Pulitzer Prize, Tony Award, Critics Circle Award, and virtually every other coveted prize of the theatre. This play follows the real-life story of Anne Frank during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. Anne started a diary in 1942 just before she and her family were forced to go into hiding with other Jews. They remained hidden until their betrayal in 1944 that resulted in their deportation to Nazi concentration camps. The Diary of Anne Frank runs June 2nd-11th, 2017. Season subscription tickets are now available. Save $18 per person when you buy a season subscription for all six shows. Flex Passes for any four shows are also available.
