Judy Collins, Ginger Stickel and James Mapes headline this week's (Friday, May 13) State of the ARTS which airs LIVEevery Friday from 12noon to 1pm on WPKN-FM (89.5) in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Co-hosts of the weekly arts & entertainment program are Richard Pheneger and Peggy Nelson.

The legendary performer Judy Collins, offers an intimate evening at the Ridgefield Playhouse on Saturday, June 11 at 8pm. The award-winning singer-songwriter is best known for her own poetically poignant original compositions plus her imaginative interpretations of traditional and contemporary folk standards. Her stunning rendition of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" has been entered into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

Ginger Stickel is the COO of the Greenwich International Film Festival running June 9 through 12 in Greenwich, Connecticut. The Festival goal is to bridge the worlds of film, finance and philanthropy while supporting important human rights initiatives, as part of its social impact focus. The four-day event will feature a star-studded Opening Night Party, film premieres, educational panels, a Children's Acting Workshop, an honoree gala and more.

James Mapes, a best-selling author has been studying human behavior and dedicated himself to helping individuals and organizations identify and break through barriers to reach their goals and achieve success. Mapes' goal is to help everyone make the "quantum leap" toward more creative, productive and confident lives. An Evening with James Mapes: The Master of the Imagination is presented by the Theatre Artists Workshop, located at 5 Gregory Boulevard in Norwalk, Connecticut, on Friday, May 20 at 8pm, Saturday, May 21 at 8pm and Sunday, May 22 at 3pm.

State of the ARTS, featuring arts and entertainment personalities, airs LIVE each Friday from 12noon-1pm on WPKN-FMlocated at 89.5 and streams worldwide online at wpkn.org
