Fall Young Actor Training Program Kicks Off at Playhouse on Park

School is now in session at Playhouse on Park! Registration for the Young Actor Training Program is now open. The Playhouse is pleased to introduce Kathleen Doherty as the Teaching Artist for all four classes starting this September.

The Young Actor Training Program at Playhouse on Park offers acting classes for students in Grades K-5 focused on developing strong acting technique. Students learn to use their voices and bodies onstage, connect to an emotion, create characters and work as an ensemble, all at an age-appropriate level. We create a comfortable and professional environment that allows students to explore their creativity in a controlled setting. Classes conclude with a final showcase.

Kathleen Doherty is a recent graduate of UMASS Amherst with her Bachelor's in Classical Languages and Theatre Arts. She has previously worked as a Theatre Camp Coordinator for the YMCA in her home state of Massachusetts and is very passionate about introducing the world of theatre to children and young adults. Theatre Credits Include: UMass Play in a Day Festival Fall 2013, Fall 2014, Spring 2015 (Founder & Producer) The Cagebirds (Director); The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant (Karin); Julius Caesar (Flavius); Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Germaine); Emerging Adults (Ryan); Dog Sees God (CB's Sister).
