Castle Craig Players Present Neil Simon's RUMORS

"This play has no socially redeeming qualities, but you will laugh the whole way through!"

That's how Neil Simon described his show, RUMORS, when it first hit the stage in 1988. This hilarious farce takes to the Castle Craig Players stage April 6-15 at their intimate cabaret venue.

When four well-to-do couples gather to celebrate their hosts' anniversary, they quickly discover that the dinner isn't prepared, the hostess is missing, and the host (who is the deputy mayor of New York) has been shot! What has happened? And how can they keep all this from getting out to the police and, more importantly, the press? Watch as the evening spins out of control in this award-winning, laugh-out-loud comedy.

"What's nice about a brilliantly written comedy, such as RUMORS, is that the humor never gets stale," said director Melanie Del Sole, "It's as hilarious today as it was when it first premiered in 1988. Then you add to that a cast of incredibly talented actors such as this, and you have, not only a director's dream, but an audiences dream!"

The cast includes Andrew Coutermarsh, Tina Falivene, David Cheris, Lori Holm, Ed Rosenblatt, Stephanie Kull, Jim Kane, Allison Kane, Stu Wolther and Chris Cooper. Mark Laucella serves as Assistant Director, and the Production Stage Manager is Meg Ryan.

Neil Simon's RUMORS runs for seven performances only - June 1-10 (Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:00pm, with a special Thursday performance on June 7 at 7:30pm) at The Almira F. Stephan Memorial Playhouse, 59 West Main Street, Meriden, CT. Presented Cabaret Style with table seating, patrons are invited to bring their own dinner, drinks and snacks to enjoy!
