Bolshoi Ballet's THE NUTCRACKER to Screen in HD at Ridgefield Playhouse

The Ridgefield Playhouse and Craig's Fine Jewelry at The Playhouse Live in HD Series bring the Bolshoi Ballet's beloved holiday classic, The Nutcracker, to the big screen on Friday, December 23 at 7:00 p.m.

With its fairytale setting and Tchaikovsky's timeless score, it's a wonderful way for the entire family to celebrate the holiday season. The Bolshoi's version of The Nutcracker has a unique and beautiful sense of romance and philosophy, danced by the heroic Denis Rodkin as the courageous Prince and the magical Anna Nikulina as Marie.

As with all of the performances in the HD Series, enjoy dinner and a show by visiting Bernard's (20 West Lane, Ridgefield) on the day of the show for a great Prix Fixe Menu when you present your tickets. Media sponsor for this series is 91.1fm WSHU.

2017 brings a live in HD screening of the Bolshoi Ballet's Sleeping Beauty on Sunday, January 22 at 12:55 pm. In this resplendent and magical classic, the Bolshoi dancers take us on a dream­-like journey through this classic fairytale complete with jewel fairies, a magical kingdom, a youthful princess and a handsome prince in this purest style of classical ballet. The Bolshoi's sumptuous staging with its luxurious sets and costumes gives life to Perrault's fairy tale unlike any other.
