The Academy for the Performing Arts, a program of Excel TECC, presents COME FROM AWAY, the Tony Award-winning musical, October 22, 24 and 25 at the Chagrin Falls Performing Arts Center. When American airspace closed on September 11, 2001, 38 planes carrying nearly 7,000 passengers were diverted to Gander, Newfoundland, where the people of the small town welcomed the stranded travelers with food, shelter, and kindness for five days. Directed and choreographed by Dan Hendrock, with music direction by Emily Morgan, the production also features a remarkable artifact on loan from the Bedford Historical Society, a crushed metal file drawer recovered from the Twin Towers, on display in the lobby during all performances. Performances are Thursday, October 22 at 7:00 PM, Saturday, October 24 at 7:00 PM, and Sunday, October 25 at 2:00 PM at 400 East Washington Street in Chagrin Falls. Tickets are on sale now at cur8.com/26156/project/141291.
