Bath, OH— Western Reserve Playhouse rolls in Autumn with Jane Martin's razor-sharp Anton in Show Business, running September 5–20, 2025. This backstage comedy follows three mismatched actresses thrown together for a Texas production, and the beautiful disaster that ensues. For general audiences, Anton in Show Business delivers sharp wit and laugh-out-loud humor about the quirks and pretensions of the theater world. But for Northeast Ohio's theater community (be it the actors, directors, designers, or passionate patrons who keep the arts alive), the play offers a deeper, more intrinsic look at our artistic ecosystem and the many facets she holds. Director Lisa Ortenzi tells this fascinating story to the loyal patrons of Western Reserve Playhouse's Historic Barn: an intimate, fully-equipped theater venue of 95 seats. The production promises to highlight the quick-fire dialogue and fourth-wall-breaking moments of this razor-sharp, quick-witted comedy, while also paying tribute to the deeper questions about artistic integrity, financial survival, and what we're willing to sacrifice for our craft. Performances run September 5–20, 2025, with shows Thursdays through Saturdays at 8:00 PM and Sunday the 14th at 2:00 PM. Tickets are available now at https://www.thewrp.org/mainstageseason/anton and are $25 with assigned seating. Seating is limited in WRP’s intimate 95-seat venue, nestled inside a historic 160-year-old dairy barn. Secure your seat early for this unforgettable theatrical comedy.
Western Reserve Playhouse is at 3326 Everett Road, Bath, OH.
