Reduced Shakespeare Company Presents Completely Hollywood (abridged) March 11

By:

They've gone biblical, they've gone historical, and now the Reduced Shakespeare Company has gone Completely Hollywood (abridged). After all, Hollywood is America's largest export, so Tinseltown's glorious ridiculousness is the perfect subject for The Reduced Shakespeare Company's signature reductive touch. Completely Hollywood (abridged) shakes up showbiz in an epic edit of movie masterpieces. All of Hollywood's glorious moments - both onscreen and off - are captured as the bad boys of abridgement masterfully miniaturize almost 200 of Hollywood's greatest movies in 100 minutes! (Actual greatness may vary.)

CAPA presents The Reduced Shakespeare Company at the Southern Theatre (21 E. Main St.) on Wednesday, March 11, at 8 pm. Tickets are $35 and $27.50 at the Ohio Theatre Ticket Office (39 E. State St.), all Ticketmaster outlets, and www.ticketmaster.com. To purchase tickets by phone, please call (800) 745-3000 or (614) 469-0939. The Southern Theatre Ticket Office will open two hours prior to the performance. Students between the ages of 13-19 may purchase $5 High Five tickets while available.

Since its origins as a pass-the-hat act in California, the Reduced Shakespeare Company has created six world-renowned stage shows, four TV programs, and numerous radio pieces - all of which have been performed, seen, and heard the world over. The company returns to Columbus with their newest creation, Completely Hollywood (abridged), a three-actor, 100-minute rollercoaster ride through the glorious quagmire of Tinseltown history.

All of Hollywood's magnificent excess becomes "non-stop hilarity from beginning to end" (British Theatre Guide) in this "hilarious and speedy take on Hollywood's highs and lows, one of the greatest sustained pieces of physical comedy ever seen" (BBC).

Starring RSC stalwarts and authors ReEd Martin and Austin Tichenor - and featuring additional material and freaky physicality from unindicted co-star Brad Harbaugh - Completely Hollywood (abridged) features every movie cliché you've ever heard of - and many you haven't.

Owner/operator of downtown Columbus' magnificent historic theatres (Ohio Theatre, Palace Theatre, Southern Theatre) and manager of the Riffe Center Theatre Complex (Columbus) and the Shubert Theater (New Haven, CT), CAPA is an award-winning presenter of national and international performing arts and entertainment.
