Humorist David Sedaris Returns to Cleveland, 10/27
The best-selling author, playwright, National Public Radio star, GRAMMY nominee and Santaland Diaries "retired elf" entertains at Playhouse Square's State Theatre Fri., Oct. 27 at 8 pm. Tickets go on sale Fri., June 2 at 11 am at playhousesquare.org, 216-241-6000 & the Ticket Office. Prices will be $50, $40, $30 & $10. Adding to his best-sellers like Me Talk Pretty One Day and Dress Your Family in Corduroy, Sedaris has just released his latest book Finding: Diaries (1977-2002).
By way of his sundry books and steady stream of humorous commentaries on NPR shows like "Morning Edition" and "This American Life," Sedaris has been elevated to comic icon among the young, hip American literati. His acidic, often absurd outlook affirms his reputation as a comic force of twisted nature. No matter his subject, the man is exhaustingly funny. He is also a little crazy...no, make that a lot crazy: a few years back he passed on an offer to write for Seinfeld. He had been sought out because he mines some of the same comic territory as Jerry Seinfeld.
