Cast consists of: Three Men and Five Women - 20 - 50 years of age.

-Marshall (20-50) Out of work actor who specializes in acting like fruits or vegetables for commercials and promotional gigs. Must also pull off a decent Groucho Marx.
-Phil (20-30) A typical New York-hardened, aspiring actress who also lives in Michael's building. Eventually falls for Michael. Should be Italian looking and has to play Chico Marx.
-Tanya (30-50) A Russian ballet dancer (accent a must) who is as flamboyant as Charo and into scream therapy plays Harpo Marx at one point.
-Mrs. Caldwell (40-50+) Michael's mother from Dayton, OH; she knows how to lay on the guilt. May double as Edna.
-Edna (40-50+) Owner of Michael's apartment building; grouchy and cantankerous.
-Heather (20-30) Sweet, thin, model; an airhead. (The light is on but no one is home.)

Please note: Auditionees do not have to be these actual ages, just must be able to play and look the appropriate age range. Funny is good!

Auditionees should be prepared to read from the script. Headshot and theatrical resume required. Show directed by Mike Fielder.

Rehearsals begin - May 3, 2009.

Performance dates: June 3 - 21, 2009. All roles are paid positions.

The Show: What happens when a shy, aspiring writer from the Dayton, Ohio comes to the Big Apple to seek his fortune? For Michael Caldwell, life becomes a series of hilarious encounters with the zany residents of his ancient apartment house. Among them are Marshall Ryan, an actor who specializes in portraying vegetables; Tanya Romanov, a Russian ballerina on the lam from the KGB; and Philomena Della Vecchia, the woman of Michael's dreams - if he can just keep her quiet long enough to tell her. To retain his own sanity, Michael retreats to a fantasy world where his imagination is even more nerve-wracking than the reality surrounding him!
