Props Master

May 11 – July 23

The Props Master leads a four person department consisting of our return assistant props master and artisan as well as an intern. Props always vary with the needs of the season but range from carpentry to crafts to upholstery to paints. There is a decent stock in storage on campus but we rent quite a bit to supplement. Some of the more difficult responsibilities include coordinating props with the set designer who is often not in town yet while the director already is so the props master often becomes unwitting go between, coordinate space use with other departments for space and tools, dealing with rehearsal prop needs for very short rehearsal process’ and tracking a tight budget for multiple shows while still being realistic about directors needing/wanting last minute adds. On site housing is provided.

Assistant Technical Director

May 11 – August 9

The ATD will join our returning TD to steer the season build for all shows. There is the opportunity for the ATD to take the lead on a couple of projects to help build drafting experience and portfolio. Previous technical direction, or similar/relevant leadership positions, is required. Strong AutoCAD skills and communication are absolute requirements. Keeping calm under stress, strong working relationships with designers, creative problem solving, comfortability with long work hours over long stretches and general familiarity with a Festival environment are all important. Sense of humor preferred. On site housing is provided.
