Intern / Production Assistant - Tilted Windmills Theatricals

LISTING INFORMATION

Tilted Windmills is a busy production company founded by Broadway veteran David Carpenter and two-time Tony Award winner John Arthur Pinckard. We are currently represented Off Broadway by PUFFS: Or, Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic, now in its new home at New World Stages; however, we have projects in every stage of the production cycle, from packaging star-driven shows for Broadway, to developing new titles in workshop and out-of-town productions, to financing and producing commercial productions on and off Broadway, to planning touring and international engagements for PUFFS.

A TWT internship provides a hands-on opportunity to learn about the four primary areas of operation in a producing office: creative development/dramaturgy, financing, production management, and marketing/sales. Applicants should indicate which area or areas of focus they have the most experience in, and which areas in which they wish to develop the most.

Our business model emphasizes active production over passive financing; therefore candidates interested in joining offices who co-produce multiple Broadway shows per season should not apply. Rather, the internship is ideal for early career producers who wishes to gain practical, hands-on experience as they advance towards opening their own office or seeking an executive position at an established organization. Aspiring general managers, not-for-profit managers, and other professionals considering a career in theatrical production will also benefit from the insight our internship provides into the commercial producer’s mindset and workflow.

Dates & Availability

Start and end dates are flexible but we hope to be joined by at least one intern by late August/early September. The work schedule is generally Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 6:00pm. Preference will be given to full-time interns but we are open to the right part-time or flex-time candidate as well. For both full-time and part-time arrangements, overtime or split shifts will be periodically necessary, mostly as shows go into production, but will usually be planned in advance.
