Baltimore Center Stage seeks candidates for the position of Development Assistant. The Development Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Development office. Responsibilities include database management, gift tracking and generation of gift acknowledgements, support for all individual giving campaigns, and general support for Individual Giving Manager and Director of Advancement.
Specific tasks include:
- Oversee daily operations in Tessitura related to donations; ensure the accurate processing and reconciliation of all pledges and contributions; acknowledge all gifts within 48 hours of receipt; and generate daily income reports, monthly development income reports, forecasts, and budgets
- Maintain accurate and updated constituent records for all donors and members in Tessitura, including but not limited to contact information, codes and attributes, relationships, media attachments, contact reports, and moves management strategies
- Support cultivation and stewardship efforts for donors and serve as the primary Box Office contact for Development office ticketing needs, including corporate, trustee, and major donor ticketing requests
- Work with the Individual Giving Manager, Corporate Relations Manager, and Publications Manager to create, proofread, and post all donor recognition lists online, in print, and in the lobby spaces
- Assist Finance office with routine finance and budgetary reports and forecasts; track departmental expenses
- Create and oversee the execution of automatic reporting tools for the Development Department and staff and volunteer leadership
- Serve as staff support for Development-related committee meetings, including Major Gift and Gala Committee, and Development-related events, including the Major Donor Reception and Gala
- Collaborate with Development staff on meeting or exceeding targeted financial goals
- Other duties as assigned, including general Development office support
Position qualification requirements:
- Undergraduate degree required
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to details, accuracy, and dependability
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including active listening
- Tactful patron service mindset and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft software
- Tessitura experience preferred
- Commitment to Baltimore Center Stage’s core mission and an enthusiasm for the performing arts
Position is fulltime, year-round with benefits. Reports to the Individual Giving Manager.
