Our New Town at Piven Theatre Workshop

Northwestern University students Samara Malik and Arella Flur are thrilled to be directing and producing Our New Town, a new original musical with book and lyrics by Gabriel Dean and Jessie Dean, and original music by David Dabbon.

Our New Town centers around a college theatre community following a school shooting during their production of the American classic Our Town. The surviving cast members put together a musical theatrical event as a way to reclaim their theatre and heal their broken community. This immersive, metatheatrical play puts the audience at the center of an American crisis.

This production will be staged at the Piven Theatre Workshop in Evanston, IL, on October 15 and 16, 2021.

Tickets are free general admission. Our New Town is raising funds for Family Rescue, an organization dedicated to ending domestic violence in the Chicago community by providing comprehensive support services and shelter to victims of domestic violence. Run time: 90 minutes with no intermission.
