“CRITICS’ CHOICE” - LA Times

"TOP TEN” - Stage Raw

"Deceptively incisive, oftentimes laugh out loud funny…engaging” - Discover Hollywood

A chance encounter will lead two young men into a head-on confrontation in a story that goes from Rockefeller Center to 145th St. and everywhere in-between. Dutch Masters is a piercingly insightful comedy-drama that illuminates the continuing problems of race in America.

"I love art when on the surface it seems to be one thing, but then it is revealed to be something completely unexpected. That’s why I wanted to direct this piece. The deeper I investigated, the more I related to what these characters are searching for and the ideas that are dramatized. I suddenly realized - I ‘needed' to direct this piece. It’s about identity, acknowledgment and vindication. Everyone has a question they need answered. Some of us never get that answer. And some of us get an answer we don’t want" - Guillermo Cienfuegos; Director

Playwright Greg Keller is a two-time recipient of the Lecomte du Noüy prize. He wrote his first play, The Young Left, while attending NYU's graduate program. Produced at the Cherry Lane Theatre (through their Obie Award-winning Mentor Project), The Young Left earned him a Lila Acheson Wallace fellowship at Juilliard's Playwriting Program. His second play, The Seduction Community, a comedy about pick-up artists, was produced at Juilliard, and work shopped at Manhattan Theater Club, Playwrights Horizons, and Naked Angels. At Juilliard, he wrote Dutch Masters, which received a workshop production at LAByrinth Theater Company, and subsequent productions in Massachusetts and Philadelphia. His fourth play, Qaddafi's Daughters (formerly Tripolitania), was produced at Williamstown Theatre Festival, and his newest play, The Jokers, just had its first reading at LAByrinth's Summer Intensive. Greg has worked extensively Broadway and Off-Broadway as an actor. Credits include Wit on Broadway opposite Cynthia Nixon, 33 Variations opposite Jane Fonda, and Seminar opposite Jeff Goldblum (both at the Ahmanson in LA), and most recently on Broadway opposite Linda Lavin, in Richard Greenberg's Our Mother's Brief Affair at MTC. This season, he is playing George W. Bush in the world premiere of Sarah Ruhl's, Scenes from Court Life.

Rogue Machine Theatre (“Best Production” three years - Ovation, LADCC Awards) presents plays that are new to Los Angeles. Winner of the American Theatre Wing’s 2014 National Theatre Company Grant, given only to 12 theatre companies in the country, the company has garnered recognition for their work in upwards of 75 awards and nominations, including the Polly Warfield Award for Excellent Season in Small to MidSize Theater, funded by the Nederlander Organization, and BEST PRODUCTION Awards from the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, LA Weekly, Ovation, and Garland voters. After Rogue Machine introduced Los Angeles to the world premiere of Small Engine Repair by John Pollono, it became a critical and box office hit Off-Broadway in 2013 and has been published by Dramatists Play Service. In Los Angeles, it garnered LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Best Production - Intimate Theater, Best Direction, Best Ensemble, Backstage Garland Awards: Best Production, Writing, Ensemble. Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Best Production, Best Writing, and Best Direction, LA Weekly Awards for Best Production, Playwriting, LA Times CRITICS’ CHOICE, LA Weekly “GO”, Ovation Recommended, Top 10 LA Theatre experiences, and was a Bitter Lemons Top Rated Show in 2011. One Night In Miami… by Kemp Powers (winner of the LA Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Production) became Baltimore Center Stage’s best-selling production in their 52-year history and had a sold-out run at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Henry Murray’s Treefall has been produced by six other American theatre companies and published by Dramatists Play Service.
