Black Latina (The Play) Comes to Chicago at UrbanTheater Company

After more than a decade of touring nationally, Black Latina (The Play) comes to Chicago for a limited three-day run, October 16–18, 2026.

Written by playwright and Black Latina Movement founder Crystal Roman, the comedy explores the experiences of Black Latina women navigating identity, culture, relationships, and the complexities of being both Black and Latina in a world that often treats the two as separate identities.

Presented at UrbanTheater Company as part of the Latina Power Fall Series, the Chicago run blends humor, culture, and honest conversations around identity and womanhood.
