Savanna Rae Joins Random Acts; Celebrate With DAUGHTERS OF IRE Image

Random Acts has announced Savanna Rae as the company's newest artistic associate. Rae joins the team after appearing in The Bone House, The Laramie Project and columbinus with the company. To celebrate the occasion, Random Acts presents her solo play DAUGHTERS OF IRE for one-night only on Sunday, August 25 at The Crowd Theatre (3935 N. Broadway, Chicago). Tickets are only $10 in advance and are available now at RandomActsChicago.com. The event is BYOB.

DAUGHTERS OF IRE, written and performed by Savanna Rae, was directed by Carin Silkaitis for Other Theatre. In the much-lauded feminist piece, ferocious, fragile, and funny women from Irish legend claw their way into modern day in a breathtaking 90 minute presentation highly recommended by the Chicago Reader, calling Rae a "mesmerizing dynamo." The production has toured regionally since premiering in Chicago in 2015.

With the addition of Savanna Rae to the Random Acts team, the company now includes Company Manager Alexandra Alontaga, Ali Bailey, Lucy Chmielewski, Mariah Furlow, Angelíca Grace, Rasell Holt, Nora Lise Ulrey, Ben F. Locke, Ayssette Muñoz, Jimbo Pestano, Artistic Director Bryan Renaud, Becca Russo, Christian Siebert, and Shannon Leigh Webber.

Savanna Rae's recent credits include Short Shakes! Macbeth (Chicago Shakespeare Theater) and returning to Macbeth as Malcolm (The Back Room Shakespeare Project). Other Chicago credits include Titus Andronicus (Shakespeare Project of Chicago), Bianca Minola in Shrewish (Artemisia), and Dating and Dragons (The Factory Theatre). With Random Acts: #SafeSpace, The Bone House, The Laramie Project, and columbinus. Savanna is also a solo performer whose one woman play, Daughters of Ire, has toured regionally since 2015. She is a proud member of Other Theatre and Oak Park Festival Theatre and is represented by the incredible team at Shirley Hamilton Talent.

Random Acts was founded in 2015, dedicated to presenting unpredictable and diverse genres of theatre. We strive to create approachable art with no expectations. Notable productions include The Laramie Project 20th Anniversary Reading directed by Jason Gerace, and the five-month run of Strangest Things! The Musical.
