Dave Malloy musical will run through June 7 on the Johnson Stage in Chicago.
Raven Theatre Company has released production images for OCTET, the musical by Dave Malloy, directed by Keira Fromm. The production will run May 7 through June 7, 2026, marking the company’s first musical presentation.
Set in an anonymous meeting room on the North Side of Chicago, the work follows a group of eight individuals who gather regularly to sing as they confront the effects of digital life. Known for his Broadway work on NATASHA, PIERRE, & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812, Malloy structures OCTET around chamber-inspired a cappella music, examining themes of technology, addiction, and human connection in the online age.
The musical premiered Off-Broadway in 2019 and was described by The New York Times as “the most original and topical musical of the year.” Raven Theatre’s production continues that exploration through an ensemble-driven staging centered on vocal performance.
OCTET will run May 7 through June 7, 2026, with performances Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m. on the Johnson Stage at Raven Theatre, located at 6157 N. Clark St. Tickets are $45, with discounts available for students, military, and industry. Additional information is available at www.raventheatre.com.
