Arts Alliance at Northwestern University's production of Kander and Ebb's Cabaret begins performances May 29.
Cabaret centers on the story of Sally Bowles, a lounge singer at the Kit Kat Klub, a place struggling to survive in a day and age when survival is not guaranteed, the onset of World War II. Cabaret, directed by Katie Spelman and produced by Zachary Baer and Andrew Tolbert, opens Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 8:00PM at the Norris University Center (Evanston, IL). In Spelman's production, audiences will follow Sally Bowles through the collision of the worlds of the Kit Kat Klub and Berlin on the eve of the Third Reich. This Tony Award-winning musical masterpiece features some of Kander & Ebb's most thrilling numbers, including "Wilkommen," "Money," and "Cabaret." Northwestern alumni Gregg Edelman and Denis O'Hare return as guests of honor for Arts Alliance's production of Cabaret. Edelman (Cabaret, City of Angels, Into The Woods, Little Children) will attend the Friday, May 30 performance, and O'Hare (Cabaret, Brothers & Sisters, Garden State, Take Me Out, Assassins) will attend the Thursday, June 5 performance. Both Edelman and O'Hare will participate in Q&A sessions about Cabaret and their post-Northwestern careers following the evening's performance.Videos
