La Costa Theatre Presents: 'Holding Court'

By:
Frustrated with the dating scene 'Courtney' decides to simplify the process by creating a questionnaire and setting up shop. And she's ready to get to work.

While slogging through stacks of applications and interviewing potential suitors she recalls dates past, from her first experience as a pre-teen in a fast food playground through high school proms (and even the Red Sox first World Series victory in almost a century), while searching for the one elusive thing everyone seeks.

In the style of John Leguizamo, Eric Bogosian and Lily Tomlin, Courtney Arnett fills the stage, inhabiting a wide range of characters from versions of her younger self, to the dates who make their way through her office and her memories.

Holding Court opens on Thursday, March 20th, 2008 at 8:00PM and continues its run that weekend Friday the 21st and Saturday the 22nd at 10:30 PM following the Vagina Monologues.  Performances Thursday the 27th, Friday the 28th and Saturday the 29th are at 8:00PM and Sunday the 30th at 7:00PM.  Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for students and can be purchased at the door, through the La Costa website, or by calling TicketWeb at 866-468-3401.

La Costa Theatre is located at its brand new space on the second floor at 3931 N. Elston, (773) 866-0200.
