Hell in a Handbag Productions
is the Recipient of a
Young Leaders Fund Grant


Hell in a Handbag Productions, Chicago's only theater company dedicated to the exploration and preservation of popular culture is proud to announce that they have been awarded a grant of $3600.00 from The Young Leaders Fund to help develop the grant application process within the company.
 
"We're thrilled and very honored to receive this gift from the The Young Leaders Fund," says David Cerda, Artistic Director of Hell in a Handbag Productions "Grants like this are essential to the future growth of our theater company. It will help us as we strive to consistently improve and produce work that is meaningful and affordable to the public. We sincerely thank The Young Leaders Fund."
 
The Young Leaders Fund is a part of the Chicago Community Trust. For more than 92 years, The Chicago Community Trust has worked hand in hand with thousands of local residents and are dedicated to this region and to endowing its future. Created by the Trust in 1994, The Young Leaders Fund turns the grant making process over to its young donors. The Young Leaders Fund members award about $50,000 in grants each year. Since 1994, The Young Leaders Fund has directed over $650,000 to more than 150 innovative, entrepreneurial not-for-profit organizations in metropolitan Chicago.
 
Formed in 2002, Hell in a Handbag Productions is Chicago's premiere theater company dedicated to exploration and preservation of popular culture, parody and camp. Since it's inception the company has produced critically acclaimed theater that has developed a fiercely devoted audience base with such shows as POSEIDON! An Upside Down Musical, How 'Whatever Happened to Baby Jane' Happened, SCARRIE-The Musical, The Birds, the long running, Rudolph Red-Nosed Reindeer and most recently the Jeff recommended Die! Mommie, Die!
 
Hell in a Handbag Productions is preparing for their second annual Summer Camp series and will soon announce their upcoming season.
