American Music Institute to Close Applications for Music Scholarships and Financial Aid

The American Music Institute (AMI)'s is now accepting applications for the 2026-2027 Merit Scholarships and Need-Based Financial Aid through May 31st.
As a leader in music education across Chicago and its surrounding suburbs, AMI is committed to making high-level musical instruction accessible to students aged 5-18. Whether a student is a burgeoning virtuoso or seeking assistance to begin their musical journey, these programs provide the necessary support to foster the next generation of talent.
Merit Scholarships: Recognizing Exceptional Talent
AMI's Merit Scholarship program is designed for students who demonstrate "exceptional talent and potential" on any instrument. These prestigious awards are available for private lessons, chamber music, and various AMI programs.
Key Details for Merit Applicants:

Eligibility: Students aged 5-18.

Requirements: Recipients must perform in AMI student recitals, participate in AYCO Chamber Music Programs, and attend the Chicago Summer Music Camp.

Submission: All applicants must submit a Merit Audition Video via Google Drive to AMI@amimusic.org by the May 31st deadline.

Renewal: Scholarships are awarded annually. Current scholars must re-apply and re-audition each year to demonstrate continued improvement and commitment.
Need-Based Financial Aid: Ensuring Accessibility
The American Music Institute firmly believes that financial constraints should not be a barrier to quality music education. AMI offers Need-Based Financial Aid to students (ages 5-18) for any available instrument.
