Unto These Hills outdoor drama tells the tragic and triumphant story of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians from first contact with Europeans through the years following the removal west on the infamous Trail of Tears. As the third oldest outdoor drama in the country, over 6 million people have sat under the stars at Mountainside Theatre to witness this moving play. The drama features a multicultural cast, dances, battle reenactments, heartbreak, triumph, and a little comic relief. Join us this summer in the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina for the 74th season of Unto These Hills.
Unto These Hills is performed rain or shine, Monday through Saturday. Doors open at 7pm, a preshow musical performance starts at 7:30pm, and the main show begins at 8pm. The show runs approximately 2 hours with one 15 minute intermission. Please note, there will be loud sounds during the performance, including gunshots.
