Children’s Theatre of Charlotte has produced a brand-new blues musical about Toni Stone, the first woman to play professional baseball in the big leagues. “Catching the Moon: The Story of the Young Girl’s Baseball Dream,” tells the story of the baseball legend in her formative years when she was known as the resilient and determined Marcenia Lyle, and how one random act of kindness propelled her to greatness.
With the 2021-22 season coming to a close soon, Children's Theatre of Charlotte wanted to leave audiences with something to remember. The multiple Tony award-nominated show, 'Shrek the Musical,' is no small feat; so, the Theatre has decided to scale everything up!
Children's Theatre of Charlotte began in 1948 as a volunteer-run children's program and has since grown into one of the top theatre and education organizations for young people in the United States.
There aren't many plays for pre-schoolers that boast the right pace and sustain their attention, Children's Theatre's new adaptation of A SICK DAY FOR AMOS MCGEE hits the sweet spot, quietly modeling friendship and kindness.
Come to the place where dreams are born, and no one ever truly grows up - Children's Theatre of Charlotte.
