From award-winning Charlotte artist Brooke McCarthy comes a bold, darkly funny solo musical about narcissistic charm, emotional manipulation, and the fight to reclaim your voice after gaslighting.

Birdie the Ringmaster welcomes audiences into her “circus of the mind,” where dazzling illusions, mischievous characters, original music, audience interaction, and theatrical spectacle collide. But as the tricks multiply and reality begins to bend, Birdie must learn to trust her own instincts, reclaim the center ring, and take back control of her story.

Playful, poignant, and just a little dangerous, Gaslighting: The Musical! transforms psychological chaos into a wildly theatrical journey of survival, self-trust, and reclamation.

Content Warning: This production contains mature language and explores themes of emotional abuse and manipulation, with brief references to suicidal ideation. Part of Davidson Community Players' Armour After Dark series, which activates our theatre on off nights by sharing a variety of performing arts acts oriented toward adults, from stand up to improv to community-based storytelling.
